Resetting the digital counter does not physically clean the ink pads. If you reset the software multiple times without cleaning or replacing the physical sponges, ink may eventually leak from the base of the printer.

Turn the printer off. Press and hold the Resume button, then press and hold the Power button. Release the Resume button (while holding Power) and press Resume five times. Release both buttons. The green light should remain steady.
